Summer retreat in Morocco

Yoga and mindfulness retreat, all levels welcome

Explore your practice in a breathtaking setting in a river valley in the Atlas mountains. Let the mind settle and the peace of nature brighten your heart.

14 – 21 May 2022 (spaces available) or
21 -28 May 2022 (fully booked)
at Kasbah Africa

Join me at this truly unique lodge in a breathtaking location, perched on a mountain side above the banks of the Azzaden River Valley in the High Atlas Mountains. Kasbah Africa offers a rustic, laid-back Berber experience amidst extensive landscaped terraced gardens with abundant fruit and olive trees. This is the perfect spot to unwind, relax, let things settle and enjoy your practice. Kasbah Africa can be reached in just over an hour’s drive from Marrakech.

Each morning will start with some breathing and a short sit before we move into an invigorating, creatively sequenced vinyasa flow practice taught with music and including modifications for all levels.

The late afternoon sessions will be slow, nurturing and calming gentle flow and restorative sessions, closing with a longer seated meditation.

Sessions will include reflections on philosophy, psychology and neuroscience to deepen understanding and inspire discussion.

Mats and props are provided.

The venue consists of eight stone-built suites, all with panoramic mountain and river views. Each suite has 40 square metres of living space and is furnished with hand-crafted walnut furniture with either two large singles or a super king size bed, wood burner, Berber rugs, a sofa and lounge chairs, spacious bathroom and private roof terrace offering spectacular and panoramic views – perfect for star-gazing. Two additional ensuite rooms are available as single rooms in a converted Berber Cottage.

There are shared social spaces and expansive lawn, swimming pool and a berber tent.

Food & drink

All meals are vegetarian, with plenty of choice using fresh local produce. There’s self serve breakfast (fruit) for those who need a bite to eat before practice, a yummy (and substantial) brunch, an afternoon snack and dinner every day.

Alcohol won’t be served with the meals, as I’d like to encourage an inward focus and practice of self awareness. (However, what you do in your own time and space is of course up to you.)

Thank you so much for such an interesting, enjoyable, exhilarating yet peaceful weekend. I truly loved all of it! So much to take away from one weekend.

I really like your approach and find your calming energy radiating around the room just amazing. Your calming voice is very comforting, and yet you remain clear and composed, explaining each new move or next set of instructions so incredibly clearly.

I couldn't think of anything I would change about the retreat, it was truly a great weekend. Studio was perfect, nice floor, lighting, views. Food was delicious and plentiful.

Asana, breathing, history and philosophy were brilliantly themed through the lessons. It was obvious that everything had been thoroughly prepared but it all still came across with a gentle passion and enthusiasm.

Interesting topics which really made practical sense in combination with the yoga sessions. The yoga studio was really wonderful - the views, the peacefulness and the sunsets were beautiful.

I've already recommended it to many friends, and would definitely be up for a longer period next time. Sad to come home at the end of it.

I enjoyed the great yoga, lovely people and relaxed and friendly nature of it all. I felt I could really disconnect. Loved everything. Thank you for your wonderful energy - it was a great weekend.

I wanted to say what a wonderful time I had and how profoundly grateful I am to you for the lessons I have learnt through your teaching of yoga.

The people i was sharing with were wonderful and made me feel welcomed. The studio has a great view. I loved overlooking the green with animals.
