As humans we are creatures of habit. Which – somewhat counterintuitively – doesn’t necessarily mean that these habits are easy to set. Some of our habits are not very skilful – being judgmental or self-critical for example. And some habits can be really supportive – like having a regular yoga practice. How can we remain flexible and non-dogmatic in our habits (even if they are really skilful) and start afresh? In this practice we’ll explore the beginner’s mindset, as we approach postures from a slightly different perspective. And on the way, we’ll mobilise the hips and spine and stabilise the back for deepening backbends.
